And now, STUFF SKETCHED!

First announced in my monthly email newsletter, I’ve started a series of YouTube drawing videos called STUFF SKETCHED. A pseudo-spinoff of my STUFF SAID podcast, these videos will feature my drawing something with a voice over commentary of some kind. So far there are two videos up on YouTube (and at StuffSaidShow.com), with more to come. This is a work-in-progress, and I welcome comments, questions, and suggestions for what I might draw, talk about, etc.

In the meantime, here are the first two videos in the series:

Episode 2:

A Big PIX Update (with some history, too)

I’ve covered some of this over at PixComic.com, but in an effort to make this page about something more than Tom Cruise podcast episodes, I thought it worth putting some words down here.

In late 2014 I finally took Hatter Entertainment to the next level, self-published PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND under the Hatter Entertainment name. It was something I long wanted to do and it remains one of my proudest accomplishments of my professional career.

PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND in (better) Comic Stores TODAY!

Pix_Lumberjanes_Racked

PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND is now available in comic book shops everywhere, as of today! If your local comic shop was amongst those who chose to stock copies, please consider supporting them and buying a copy from said store. They took a chance on my book and I’d love to see people showing their support for that decision.

And if your store didn’t order copies, they still can through Diamond Comics backlist, using item number DEC141546.

Where’s your local comic store? Find out here.

You don’t have a local comic store? Well, then consider buying PIX from PixComic.com or on Amazon.com.

And if you see PIX “in the wild”, snap a photo and send it to me (and/or post to social media with the hashtag #PixPics) and let me know the name of the store. I’d like to thank as many stores personally as I can!

Announcing PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND

For a very long time, too long, I’ve talked the talk of “one day” being a publisher, publishing my own work. Visions and stars in my eyes. Well, as of today I can say I’ve done it. I approved the proofs and now simply have to wait for the printer to ship me copies of PIX: ONE WEIRDEST WEEKEND, and original graphic novel by me, published by Hatter Entertainment.

If you wonder why my last new post was in January, well, this book is what I’ve been working on for the past 8+ months. It feels pretty awesome to say it’s done. It’ll feel awesome-r still to see the book “in person”. Until then, I invite you to check out the Pix web side at PixComic.com, where you can read, in its entirety and for free, the first chapter of the book (click the Previews tab) – check it out!

And if that’s not enough, here’s the the cover:

More news as it happens. I’m also working on a website refresh, too, with a store and everything! Getting this book done is a big deal, but no time to rest on laurels, right?

2013: Year in Review(ish)

I don’t like being one of those folks who remark on their absence from their own sites and updates therein, so I won’t. Instead, here’s some stuff that’s happened this past year that’s occupied my time, but first, check out the newest holiday card for 2013 here.

I’ve been drawing (and writing) SPONGEBOB COMICS, available at better comic shops (and some newsstands, apparently). In May 2014 be sure to go to your local comic shop’s Free Comic Book Day event (the first Saturday in May every year, so in 2014 that’ll be 5/3) and pick up the SpongeBob issue. I wrote, drew and colored a four-page story in there I’m excited about. Here’s a sneak peak:MMBBSneak_01

“Stuff Said”, my podcast, continues apace. This year I had some great talks with great people in comics, as well as this episode, where I tell my story of “breaking in” to the comics industry.
