Stick Figure Night Live! is a series of stick figure comic “recreations” of episodes of Saturday Night Live. Just as the show itself is performed live, the comics are drawn “live” while watching the show (with the occasional assist from DVR or some digital clean-up post scanning).
Anyone else noticing more musical guests appearing in sketches these days? I’m not saying it’s good or bad, but it always throws me, with such a large cast, how often those cast members don’t appear. Did Taran Killam appear at all last night? (clearly I was wrong with my prediction we’d see his Michael Cera impression return)
Nassim Pedrad and Jesse Eisenberg were pretty great in the Mr. Wizard sketch. And Bill Hader practically stole the “Bride of Blackenstein” sketch at the tail end of it.
Next week it’s old school with Dana Carvey…will it be another “past cast returns” show, or will the existing cast get to play along…?
Andy actually said “Awk-berg!” in the monologue.
And I don’t think we’ll see the past cast for Carvey/Brown, even though Sandler and Lovitz actually are promoting stuff.
I won’t lie, mis-hearing things is one of the perils of live stick-figuring…that, and trying to remember what just happened as I doodle during a commercial or paused moment. I admittedly try not to rewind if I can help it.
And now that it’s happened, it looks like Lovitz did stop by, though without a peep of promotion. And Mike Myers, which I’d never had expected.
I’m glad I guessed wrong!
