Stick Figure Night Live! is a series of stick figure comic “recreations” of episodes of Saturday Night Live. Just as the show itself is performed live, the comics are drawn “live” while watching the show (with the occasional assist from DVR or some digital clean-up post scanning).
It bugs me when I do too many full-tier wide panels…I feel like I’m doing something wrong. But sometimes it’s the nature of the sketch that it breaks down that way, right? Right!
Meanwhile, a regular concern in comic book making is a new reader knowing and understanding the content. So, my question: for the “Little Brothers” sketch, is it funny on its own or do we need to know Eli Manning has an older brother named Peyton…OR do we need to know Peyton Manning did a “Big Brothers” sketch when he hosted a couple years back?
And I KNOW I misspelled Al Qaida in the Weekend Update panel…Why didn’t I correct it digitally? Laziness.
Hope everyone had a lovely Free Comic Book Day.
Next week Will Ferrell hosts. In recent years a past cast member hosting has meant many a cameo by other past cast members. Does that mean we might see Will and Rachel Dratch as “The Lovers” again…or does the power of Will Ferrell need no cameos!
