Avengers #1 1/2, published in 1999, was a comic book written by Roger Stern and illustrated by Bruce Timm to evoke comics of the early 1960s (specifically 1963, fitting in between the original publication dates of AVENGERS #1 and #2, hence the 1/2 in the title).
My major contribution beyond my role as assistant editor, was writing an ad that appeared on the inside back cover. I took a 1960s advertisement for a course in auto repair, removed all of the text save for the headlines, and re-wrote the copy to something, hopefully, humorous and entertaining.
